Bilaxten 20 mg 20 Tablets

What Bilaxten 20 mg is used for:
Bilastine is an antihistamine prescribed to treat allergic rhinitis (sneezing- itchy nose- nasal discharge- nasal congestion- and red- streaming eyes) and other types of allergic rhinitis.
It can also be used to treat itchy skin rashes (wheals and urticaria).
Do not take Bilaxten 20 mg:
If you are allergic to Bilastine or any of the chemicals in this medication.
Tell your doctor about the allergies and the symptoms you had.
If you're providing it to a child under the age of 12.
Warnings and precautions of Bilaxten 20 mg:
Do not take Bilaxten if you are allergic to it or any of the other substances stated in the medication's label.
If you have moderate or severe renal impairment and are taking other medications- you should consult your doctor before taking the drug.
This tablet is not suited for children under the age of 12.
Do not repeat a prescription without first visiting your doctor.
Take the medication as prescribed by your doctor.
Don't take more than recommended.

Other medicines and Bilaxten 20 mg:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are currently taking- have recently taken- or plan to take any other medications- including prescription drugs-
over-the-counter medications- herbals- vitamins- and supplements.
If you are taking ketoconazole (antifungal medication).
If you are taking cyclosporine (a medication designed to reduce the activity of your immune system and avoid transplant rejection).
If you are taking diltiazem (for angina).
If you are taking rifampicin (antibiotic).
If you are taking ritonavir (a treatment for AIDS).
If you are taking erythromycin (antibiotic).
How to take Bilaxten 20 mg:
Take one pill daily.
Take the tablet when your stomach is empty (one hour before or two hours after a meal).
The tablet should not be taken with any food- grapefruit juice- or other fruit juices.
Pregnancy & Breastfeeding Precautions While Taking Bilaxten 20 mg Tablets:
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding- see your doctor before using this medication.
Non-Pharmacological Treatments & Advice To Reduce Common Cold:
Get lots of rest and stay hydrated.
Try breathing in damp air. Take a steamy shower or use a humidifier.
Warm fluids (soup or tea) can help relieve a stuffy nose and remove phlegm.
Follow a well-balanced diet. If you can't- take a multivitamin every day to guarantee you get adequate nutrients.
Avoid dairy products- which can thicken sputum.
